Kathi - where heart meets attitude

I'm the one who works in the background - but is never really quiet. I'm in the thick of things where people are involved, where decisions are made and where numbers dance. I keep an overview, bring things together and make sure that everything runs smoothly - quietly but firmly. Tourism is in my blood, hunting grounds me - and my two four-legged friends are my daily balance. I love it real, down-to-earth and with a dash of tradition - just like it is here in Valavier. Here, everything can be as it is: honest, lively and with a lot of heart.

Edi - at home with people and animals

You hear him before you see him - Edi is our whirlwind with charm. His voice echoes throughout the house, his laughter is infectious and he always has a quick joke at the ready. Anyone who meets him immediately senses that he has heart - and in the right place.
Numbers and the office? He's happy to leave them to Kathi. Edi is where life happens: with the guests, his animals or in the garden, where he likes to lend a hand and talk. A true host who creates unforgettable moments with humour, warmth and joie de vivre.

Our garden is more than just a place in the countryside - it is a small paradise of plains, water and far-reaching views. Framed by the gentle Mühlebächle stream and the rushing Alvierbach stream hangs our Dedon swing, which invites you to dream. Swinging in it, you can feel the freedom, hear the chirping of the birds, the wind in the trees and look far up to the Mottakopf and the Rätikon. A place to take a deep breath.

With great care, craftsmanship, and respect, Edi has created a little paradise here:
for our donkeys, Gustl and Gertrud, for our flock of sheep and miniature sheep,
and for our two Shetland ponies, Adelheid and Alois, whose charm wins hearts instantly.

The barn is more than just a home for the animals.
It is a place of discovery for children – a space to feed, groom, ask questions,
marvel, and learn how beautiful a connection with nature can be.

and a piece of Valavier that cannot be explained, only experienced.

From customs house to four-star hotel

Our story begins modestly - in a small customs house in Brandnertal. This became an inn, and with a lot of hard work, passion and lifeblood, it eventually became what we are today: a four-star superior hotel, deeply rooted in Brand and grown over generations.
Each generation has played its part in shaping and developing the Valavier. Today, Edi, Kathi, Fabian and Santina run the hotel together - as a family, as a team, as the heart of the Valavier. Experience meets a breath of fresh air, tradition meets new ideas. And this is exactly what characterises us: genuine hospitality that lasts.
