Enjoy a soothing warm-air bath at the Valavier Aktivresort in Brand, perfectly tailored to your circulation. Our bio-sauna – also known as a ‘saunarium’ – combines gentle alpine warmth with a stunning view over the Rätikon mountains in Vorarlberg.

Compared to the classic Finnish sauna, you’ll find a pleasantly mild temperature of 60°C here. Thanks to these temperatures, which are gentle on the circulation, you can extend your sauna session to up to thirty minutes without any infusions and savour the tranquillity to the full.

Physio.Therm.Cabin

The deep heat radiator works gently and evenly without overheating the epidermis. The body sweats from the inside out, so to speak, and not as a defence reaction to overheated external media such as air or steam as in a sauna.

Breathing in hot air, which is harmful to the circulation, is also avoided.

This is why people with poor circulation often choose to visit an infrared cabin.

Steam.Bath

The steam bath is becoming increasingly popular. The biggest differences to the classic Finnish sauna are the higher humidity and the lower temperature, which makes the steam bath gentler on the circulation and better for the respiratory tract. Due to the high humidity in the steam bath, the 40°-55°C feel almost as hot as the 90°C of the Finnish sauna.

Sea.Climate.Cabin

Brine - microfine dry salt mist - cleanses the respiratory tract, improves the complexion and inhibits inflammation

Ionisation - allergen-free, clear breathing air - neutralises pollutants in the air and stimulates the metabolism

Oxygen - increased oxygen concentration - promotes concentration, delays cell ageing and strengthens the immune system

Hay.Sauna

The hay sauna strengthens the immune system and is pure training for the cardiovascular system. The alternation between extreme heat and cold trains the blood vessels and keeps them elastic. Regular sauna sessions teach the body to maintain its core temperature, regardless of whether it is winter or midsummer outside. So if you go to the hay sauna regularly, you won't freeze as quickly in sub-zero temperatures and will find it easier to cope with tropical temperatures in summer.

Pine.Sauna

"For thousands of years, people have been utilising the precious tree species Swiss stone pine."

Thanks to its antibacterial effect, this type of wood is also used for building saunas and infrared cabins.

Due to its high content of resins and essential oils, Swiss stone pine wood has a pleasant odour, which makes it a wood with a special feel-good character.

Temperature: 90°C

Sauna rules

Can I use the spa area with the whole family?

We offer the opportunity to enjoy a family time-out from 10.00 a.m. - 2.00 p.m. with your family. However, we ask you to be considerate of other guests seeking peace and quiet and not to leave your children unattended. Children up to the age of 16 are only permitted to enter the sauna area when accompanied by their parents. Thank you for your understanding.

When is adult time out at the spa?

Our wellness area is for adults aged 16 and over to relax and unwind in harmony with nature. In order to be able to enjoy these relaxation areas as such, access with children is no longer permitted from 3.00 p.m. Thank you for your understanding.

How many sauna sessions should you take?

Three are perfect. The first for arriving. The second for letting go. The third to savour. Take time in between to rest, cool down and drink. You set the pace - without a compulsory programme, but with a gut feeling.

Why should you shower before the sauna?

Because it's better for you - and for sweating. Clean skin absorbs heat better and the pores work more freely. So take a quick shower, dry off and then: off to the sauna. Clear, simple, sensible.

What happens during the infusion?

Water on the hot stone - and suddenly it gets more intense. The steam spreads the heat, often accompanied by fragrances. It's more than just hot. It's an experience.

How do I enter the sauna area?

Out of consideration for other guests, we would ask you not to wear any textiles in the sauna. Please use your hammam towel from your bathing bag for your sauna session or place a towel on the seats.
